A pilot hoses down his floatplane, ready for a day of sightseeing flights over the Rotorua area. Flights from Rotorua can go as far as volcanic White Island & the brilliant volcanic chasm on the summit of Mt Tarawera.

Hi Neil,
It's a beautiful morning, and thus maybe a busy day coming for the Otter and her crew. The man on the wing is an excellent detail, and reveals that the plane is bigger than what it looks like.

Hello Neil,

The pilot or his assitent makes the plane completely ready to fly.
I have never flown but this must are very pleasant above the Rotorua area, certainly with the camera in the hand.
Technical perfectly made, with pleasant colours.
Excellent panoramic view with the grey blue tones.
Perspective and depth make these picture wonderful.
Excellent composition, nice presentation.

Hello Neil
It is always interesting to see how common seaplanes are as a means of travel in far way places like this. So different a perspective from our boring European lives.
The DHC3 of corse is the perfect work horse for those remote places. Having worked for a mayor airline for some years, I was always fascinated by the bush pilots flying these planes.
You have captured this little beauty in a pleasing morning light.

This is a very pleasant and well composed photo. The light and colors are cracking and the plane itself is beautiful. It's a neat detail having the pilot up on the wing hosing. The light reflected on the wooden boards and on the hose is also cool.
