Dusky Dolphins, a photo from Canterbury, South Island

The Joy of live. Dusky dolphins leap in the sea of the Canterbury town of Kaikoura. These dolphins, which are often in pods of several hundred off Kaikoura are said to be the most acrobatic of the World's dolphins.

They also react well to swimmers - see my previous posting of a couple of months ago.

Dusky dolphins a wonderful animal, plays very gladly with people or around a boat.
A wonderful picture taken exactly on the just moment.
Nice perspective and depth image.
Sharpness and clarity are pleasant.

Hello Neil,

You're capturing wekk this scene by a good composition, good focus and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the decisive moment that some dolphins are leaping by acrobatic pose. It's effective for the water spray when it flew and bounds, too. And, the small surf in this side draws out a good impact in this image as well as the clean water.
