Hi all.
You know summers coming when the water ski club has its opening weekend.
This shot was taken last weekend at Lake Wiritoa just out of the city of Wanganui. The skier pictured is skiing in the slalom discipline.
In WS are some bonus shots.

Hi Paul,
Good action shot, interesting that the spotter appears to be wearing sound guards on his ears.
I'm thinking that f/6.3 hasn't given you enough depth, the wall of water on extreme camera right is sharp but the rest of the shot appears to be suffering on focus.
Nonetheless a good shot.

Hello Paul,

You collected a beautiful spray of water here, the joys of the summer !!! Here in France, we must support the rain and the cold which arrives� Good timing in the image and I like the natural colors. I appreciate also your complementary photographs and in particular the bonus 3, the small lick of this girl is sympathetic !!!

Hi Paul,
Wonderful action show with the skiiers wake creating a wonderfully dramatic flume of foam.
Love the causal posture of the spotter and the muted green backdrop.
This type of scene is a fading memory in the Northern Hemisphere.

Excellent composition very well balanced with the bota well located on the left and the water'splay on the right. An image full of rtythm, of dynamism. Good balalnce too between the blue and the green colors and nice prospect to the vegetation in the BG.

Hello Paul,

This is an excellent action shot! With the shutter speed of 1/1000th of a second, one can see the droplets frozen in time, reflecting and refracting the sunlight. You must have had the zoom at nearly the full focal extension of 300 mm. You must be happy to be heading into the summer months, as we in the north have a few bleak months to look forward to.

Ol� Paul, I've never tried this sport but I would like to. Sounds like lots of fun. Great series of dynamic shots. This big splash is fantastic and for sure the best one of all, but I had fun with the WSs too, specially the woman smilling with her tongue out :)

The wall of water is magnificent. I especially like WS #3 because it shows the skier's involvement and it is framed with lovely balance. I can almost feel the surge of the water and the tension of the tow line.

The wall of spray certainly is the high point of this image. Great timing for this shot, which according to me is the most critical element in these type of shots. Thanks for all the WSs, which provides bonus shots of other water skiiers

It is a good capture, in which you catch this nautical scene in the river with the slalom of the skier who raises a few big splashes in the water.
The dynamic effect is very important in this composition, very well executed.
