Photographer's Note
The scene is on Champagne Beach in Vanuatu, and the birds, I believe, are a Kingfisher and a Parrot. Their handler explained that the birds had been trained to congregate, to watch each other's back, and to behave as one. As friends, they've resisted the aphorism, "Birds of a feather stick together!" But I imagine, the Kingfisher looks at the parrot and says, "I must look just like him." And the parrot looks at the Kingfisher and pronounces, "I must look just like him." Ultimately, they are birds of a different feather and they don't know otherwise.

Hello Bulent,
What a nice sight to see these two very different birds sitting closely together. Despite the fierce backlight, the colours of their feathers are still well visible.

Hello Blent,
To me it's surprising to see two different bird species so quiet next to each other.
You can find different birds together in places where food can be found.
But so quiet next to each other is new.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Bulent,
A co-existence between a kingfisher and a parrot, unusual and unique scene.
Though you had strong backlight, I must congratulate you for posting this, the harsh light as much as disturbing - the sight is extraordinary.
We have a similar kingfisher family in out neighborhood, long ago caught one on few photos - yet, nowadays I only hear it singing while standing on high places.
Wish you a nice Sunday,
Ike

Hello Blent,
I may have been emotionally more moved by this photo if you had captured it in the wild, by sheer luck, but in spite of these birds being in captivity and trained to behave against their nature they are still so stunningly beautiful that I can't help liking this photo. Even in spite of the light conditions not totally perfect.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi dear Bulent
Is this taken in a bird zoo? I think it is quite rare for these different species birds stay together. Under the bad condition, you coud take them so nicely.
All the best and have a good day! Takero

Selamlar Blent Bey,
This is a very nice photo of these buddies demonstrating interspecies fellowship.

PS. I wonder if our fathers knew each other, my dad was a '41-A graduate of Harbiye. (They had accelerated curricula and more than one class graduating per year during the war years.)

Hello Bulent, Unusual view of these two beautiful birds together. It is not so rare to see parrots, but the close up of the kingfisher is unique.

Hello Bulent,
This would have been an unmissable shot for me, too. Though the lighting conditions were far from perfect, you have still been able to demonstrate the remarkable kinship between these very dissimilar birds capture them with a fine composition.
I can't help thinking, the parrot is about to whisper in the kingfisher's ear!
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Hello Bulat
Lovely picture of these two birds sitting close together. I think your knowledge of the languages of the kingfisher and the parrot is quit acceptable and you did hear the conversation of the two correct.
Well done, have a nice day, Groet Rob

Hello Bulent,a most unusual shot; two totally different birds side by side as 'friends'.It would have been interesting to observe their training, don't you think?
One thing for sure, they will not be quarreling about food!
Despite the difficult light conditions, it is a lovely scene.
Regards Jean.
