Fitz Roy at dawn, a photo from Santa Cruz, South

Photographer's Note

After my retirement, I could finally make my dream trip to Patagonia. This is the Fitz Roy mountain (3405 m. asl), so named in 1877 by argentine explorer Francisco Moreno, in honor of the Royal Navy captain Patrick Fits Roy, who spent many years exploring and studying the Patagonia.
I did this photo soon after the dawn, to have the mountain illuminated by the rising sun and I was surprised to see a beautiful full moon that was setting. The village visible below is El Chalten, from which all mountain excursions start.
The Fitz Roy is located on the border Argentina-Chile

J'aime beaucoup cette composition. J'aime l'effet de contraste entre le bas de l'image dans la vall馥 tr鑚 sombre et cette lumi鑽e spectaculaire sur la montagne enneig馥.

Hello Roberto,
What an amazing scenery !
The sharp peaks are so beautiful but the inclusion of the village of El Chalten makes them look much more impressive.
The full moon and the large yellow cloud provide a wonderful upper part of the picture.

Wonderful mountain scene indeed. the range is impressive and the little village, dwarfed by the huge mountain, gives a good sense of scale here.

Very good sharpness and excellent backlight and shadow detail. The jagged rocky peaky peaks add a strong graphic element against the lighter toned sky. The orange sunset tints provide a fantastic warm cold color contrast against the blue parts of the sky. Tfs!
