This city is actually called Copacabana, although it's quite distant from the famous beach in Rio, both vertically and horizontally. Yes, there is a beach, but at 3810 meters above sea level, a boat ride is more tempting than a bath. There was even snow in the hills in the other direction.

Copacabana is perhaps the most beautiful city along the shores of Lake Titicaca. Somehow I found it very inviting. Not far from here, you can also find Isla del Sol, the largest of the islands in the lake and a popular tourist destination. I was stupid enough to skip this city, naively thinking it was just one of those overcrowded and "hyped" backpacker destinations. So I bought a bus ticket directly from Puno to La Paz. I didn't realize I had to change buses in Copacabana.

So when we arrived Copacabana and they suddenly told me I had to wait an hour for the next bus, I was a bit disappointed. But I made the most out of that hour, and by the end of that hour, I wished I had more time. There was more to it than the flow of backpackers. The whole peninsula had a beautiful landscape and I can highly recommend it.
