Photographer's Note
This building is so amazing, but the illumination was not so good. It was built between 1969-1974 and it has 117,000 square meters of area.
Here I was in the Duque de Caxias Avenue and you can see the gigantic headquarters in the far BG whose name is Fort Caxias (because Duke of Caxias), the patron of Brazilian army who prevented Brazil was dismantled when the emperor Pedro II was only a teen and faced the menace of Paraguay in the most terrible war Brazil faced at the end of 19th century. Caxias was the only duke of Brazilian empire, the only man who choose the name of his noble title, based in a city of Maranh縊 he conquered during the first rebellion he extinguished. He was the military instructor of the emperor when young and a real friend of him.
Niemeyer said the obelisk was the sword of Caxias and I guess the structure ahead should be the shield, despite he never used one.
This amazing structure with the shape of a long curve was created as a shelter for the highest authorities of Brazil when they are facing the military parades in the big avenue, in my opinion it is one of the most precious samples of Brazilian architecture, but this isn't so evident here, first time I saw it in the 1990's I became fascinated.
...............

Hi Jorge,
It really is a very photogenic destination. Interesting work of art here again.
Yes I know what you mean, too often I struggle with the available illumination. Some places are better than other in illuminating the places. Germany is amazing in this respect, UK not so much. They should ask for advice photographers. We would be able to advice on the best well balanced illumination :)

Hi Jorge,
I appreciate the light reflections on the scene. The point of view is showing the details of the obelisk and of the shield. The surrounding light has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

Hi Jorge,in fact you had to stay far away to have a total view and the light is a bit lost, however the quality is good and allows you to see the night version of this unique and magnificent architecture. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello Jorge,
Also when I see this photo I have to think about the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias. Have you ever been to Valencia, Spain?
I must immediately add that the buildings in Brasilia were built earlier.
Beautiful architecture with many wavy lines and surfaces.
Best regards, Paul
