Dune's beach, a photo from Maranhao, Northeast

Photographer's Note

Many times nor I remember with exactness the dimensions of some places that I visited, therefore, whenever possible I opt to adding people to the landscapes that I photograph. Taste of this photo, therefore it shows to the average size of the majority lagoons of the NATIONAL PARK OF THE LENﾇOIS MARANHENSES. Of the one to also notice the absence of footprints in the sand, evidencing to little frequency of people. Penalty that the sun was high, but helped in the transparency of the water. I used the minimum processing in the colors to increase the realism of the scene.

Muitas vezes nem me recordo com exatid縊 as dimenss de alguns lugares que visitei, por isso, sempre que poss咩el opto por adicionar pessoas 灣 paisagens que fotografo. Gosto dessa foto, pois ela mostra o tamanho m馘io da maioria lagoas do PARQUE NACIONAL DOS LENﾇOIS MARANHENSES. Da para notar tamb駑 a aus麩cia de pegadas na areia, evidenciando a pouca freq�ncia de pessoas. Pena que o sol estava alto, mas ajudou na transpar麩cia da 疊ua. Utilizei o m匤imo processamento nas cores para aumentar o realismo da cena.

It's like a contemporary painting with the big blocks of colour in the water, sand and sky. The windsculpted shape of the curved sand dunes is brilliant. I also think the inclusion of the solitary bather adds a nice human touch and, as you say in your note, gives a sense of scale.

Hi Antonio,
It's surprising to see those sand dunes which lean on the water of the lagoon. More surprising is the fact that nobody seems to have been walking on the sand for a very long time.
It gives the picture an impression of pureness and perfection.

I like the perfect curve of the beach in this shot, and the way you have placed the dune in the frame. Having a person swimming in the water adds a lot of life to the scene too, as well as giving it scale. Great work!

Seem that you are falling in love with this place. And it have giving you the inspiration to produce so many lovely and remarkable images. And not to forget, the lovely model whom appeared in most of your images.
The dimension of this place is simply awesome and magnificient.
But after viewing most of your shots, it seem to be an isolated place with less people enjoying it, rather than you whom have enjoyed every moment of it.

The curving intersection of the dune and the green water makes a strong foacl point in the minimalist compo. The tiny person does add perspective. As you note, the strong mid-day light made it difficult to get a lot of detail in the dune. I read your note with great interest...Regards, pat

Wonderful, as are all the pictures of your series from this magical place. If colours are really like that you must have been enjoying every minute of the trip. I agree, adding a peron in the photo exactly shows us the size of these forms. Framing is excelent, too.

Thats a impressive minimalistic pic in a 'real' world! The green of the water is quite unusual and so is the sand. The combination of three colours work very well together, but the addition of a human element makes it even better. Really impressive stuff!! Good job.

This is a stunningly beautiful place and your POV has given an excellent angle to show the steep sides of the dunes as they slope to the water. As you say, the inclusion of the swimmer is good for showing the scale.

This scene could be out of a fantasy movie - perhaps swimming on the moon... The sand seems so surreal here, so overpowering. Your POV and framing ensures this effect. I like the depth obtained in the photo, and the proportion of sky you have revealed. A high impact shot, Antonio. Well captured.

The whitness of the dune is incredible, and the contrast that it makes with the green water is superb. Only three colors in this image, but they create a very very interesting compo of lines and curves. The lady swimmer is a delicious cherry on the cream. I like this image very much.

excellent composition with this natural curve, on the other hand I will have seen well the part of sky cut for left only the sand dune and the sea.

I've seen similar compositions from you, Antonio, but this is one of the best because the colours look so natural. I know you like to play around with the colours in PP to create works of art, but this is an image that is well suited to TE because it hasn't been manipulated so much. Hi Antonio. I have looked through your gallery and what a beautiful country. This view is surreal and like nothing I have ever seen before. As you I like simple composition - and also few colors - and the composition and perspective here is very effectful and with great depth. I suppose after this shot it would be possible to see footprints from your POV straight down to rescue this beautioful swimmer... :-))) I must say I don't really like the workshop as you get nothing to compare with in this beautiful scenary and loose all depth, and the lovely blue sky in contrast is just cropped away :-( Greetings Jens
