Photographer's Note
It was a Sunday morning, I took a Uber and crossed the the central town to reach the Alvorada Palace. There was a military fence 100 meters before and I had to walk to reach the moat of the palace, filled with colorful Japanese fishes. The palace was closed for visitors and even the popular gate was empty, the press nicknamed this spot (small walled) because usually during the Sunday mornings Bolsonaro liked to stay Live with the supporters there, talking stupid things and sending hard messages, but in these last months some of the visitors begun to make hard questions and he was even in discussion with some of them and the stupid populist event was cancelled. The driver of my Uber said at that moment he should be crossing the town in a motorcycle, surrounded by other supporters.
Alvorada Palace was the first building of Brasilia, created in 1959 as the house of Brazilian presidents, but many of them hated to live in this palace and preferred to live in other public buildings or even in their private homes, some of them said it was so huge and impersonal that it never would be a real home, other said it was so hot and not comfortable even being a masterpiece of Niemeyer.
It is located in the end of a peninsula, surrounded by the waters of the lake, the interior and the gardens are amazing, but I hadn't a chance to see them.
I was so far from the palace and got this classic image, sorry by the bad quality.
At side you can see the chapel in the shape of a snail shell. Dilma president used it as an office and I can tell you what happened after that.
The columns of the palace are famous and are the symbol of the city. If you pay attention you will be a sculpture in front the verandas. I will show it tomorrow.

Era uma manh de domingo e tomei um uber para alcan軋r o Pal當io da Alvorada. Havia uma barreira militar e caminhei at o fosso, onde estavam as coloridas carpas japonesas. N縊 pude visitar o pal當io pois estava fechado.

Hi Jorge,
The palace is well placed in the frame. The point of view is showing the details of the alvorada Palace. The light is giving good colors output. Have a nice day.

Hi Jorge,
I can see the verandas ;) and the chapel but this time I am not sure where the sculpture is... Interesting design. Pity that you were not able to get closer but I suppose it is hard to get closer to the White House as well.
THe style seems quite modern as the rest of the structures you showed us from Brasilia. The sky is not of my favourite color but you cannot have everything.
Great reportage,
M

Hi Jorge
You are still stuck with your president but we voted out our appalling prime Minister yesterday!
Another interesting photo of Brasilia's unusual architecture.
cheers

Hello Jorge,
Interesting edifice, if the interior decorations were dictated like Frank Lloyd Wright dictated for his creations, I can understand why it would not feel like home. On the outside, it looks more like office space than a place to live.
Regards,
MT
