Photographer's Note
It was almost night as the sun has set as we were going back to our ship after the tour of Lake Januari, the rain forest and Rio Negro. The scene is mostly black and gold. Hardly any red on it. Ahead of us was another boat similar to what we were on. At the moment I took this picture, I wished I had two more days to go around. We only stayed two days in Mnaus and one day in Santarem. Two of the busiest cities in the Amazon Basin. They call it the Amazon Basin because most rivers that catches the water run-off of the Andes mountain even from Colombia and Venezuela, eventually come to this river.

Hi Andr�, excellent shot! the fantastic yellow light have a great effect and a strong cotnrast with the dark forest and the boat.

A beautiful sunset with great light and depth. I'm really impressed by the glow of the water, very nice result. How do you take such a sharp picture from a boat? Did you have to stop to take this?

I like very much the composition (almost and example of rule of thirds) and the exposure management, with superb light and contrast.
The yellowish tonalities add a lot to the image too.

Beautifully captured, Andre! A golden cruise!! Now I understand why some many say the most impressive sunsets are those of the amazon...It feels like an adventure, like cruising into the unknown, only wild nature with it's vibrant colors and lush vegetation sorrounds you...
