Photographer's Note

These are the rivers Negro and Solimes that form the Amazonas river the bigger river of the Earth. During 6km the two rivers run side by side and the waters are not mixed. That happens because the difference between density and temperature of the rivers. Negro river runs in a speed of 2km/h with a temperature of 22ーC and Solimes river runs in a speed from 4 to 6 km/h with a temperature of 28ーC.
This is the flag of Amazonas state. The two white strips represent hope and the red strips the difficulties that were overcome.
The stars represent the municipalities of the state.
I scanned this picture because it was took in 2005 and I posted it now, because in my last trip I didn't go until the encounter of the rivers.

Estes s縊 os rios Negro e Solimes que formam o Rio Amazonas, o maior do mundo. Eles correm por mais de 6km lado a lado e n縊 se misturam. Isso acontece por causa da diferen軋 de temperatura e densidade dos dois rios. O Negro corre a uma velocidade de 2km/h e uma temperatura de 22ーC e o Solimes a uma velocidade de 4 a 6km/h com uma temperatura de 28ーC.
Essa a bandeira do estado do Amazonas. As duas faixas brancas representam a esperan軋 e a vermelha representa as dificuldades superadas. As estrelas no canto esquerdo no alto representam os municpios do Estado.
Escaneei a foto tirada em 2005 porque nessa minha ltima viagem n縊 pude ir at o encontro dos rios.
