Photographer's Note

Note from my travel logbook:

6pm, we take the minibus from San Pedro de Atacama to go to the Valle de la lune (Moon Valley), located in the desert at 15km from the village. I watch the sunset from the top of a sand dune (full of sand in my shoes !). The sight was great and strange simultaneously.

The picture show the moon valley with the Licancabur volcano on the horizon (5916m).
The name of this site is due to the similarity with the moon relief. The relief was sculpt by the wind.

The picture was scanned. I used Neatimage to decrease the noise. I cropped a little the sky above.
