Valdivia is one of the most important towns in the Lakes region. It was of of the first towns founded in that region by Spaniards in 1552. It was invaded by Dutch pirates 1600 and destroyed by an up rising of natives, being rebuild in 1645. It received lots of German immigrants and it was totally destroyed by a terrible earthquake in 1960. Today it is very difficult to find old buildings in the town cause this. The level of this town went down around 2 meters. Here we can see a typical old house of that region, it is covered with metalic pieces with drawing imitating tejuelas (wood tiles). It was spring and flowers were beautiful to see in every corner of that town. Unfortunately the weather was very bad.

Valdivia � uma das cidades mais importantes na Regi縊 dos lagos andinos chilenos. Foi uma das primeiras cidades fundadas pelos espanhois em 1552, invadida por piratas holandeses em 1600 e destru�da por um levante ind�gena. A cidade foi reconstru�da somente em 1645. Recebeu muitos imigrantes alem綟s e foi totalmente destru�da por um terr�vel terremoto em 1960. Por conta desta trag馘ia � dif�cil encontrar edif�cios antigos na cidade, al駑 disso o n�vel de solo abaixou dois metros por conta do terremoto. Aqui podemos ver uma casa t�pica, coberta com placas met疝icas com desenhos imitando as telhinhas de madeira (tejuelas). Era primavera e havia flores bel�ssima explodindo em cores por toda a parte, infelizmente o tempo estava fechado e chuvoso.
