Living Under The Clouds, a photo from Sabah, East

Photographer's Note

Nabalu is a town located at Kinabalu district, it is far from Kota Kinabalu city center. It is one of the tourism stop, there have some stalls selling handicrafts and souvenirs. Beside the stalls you can find a view point to admire the oppesite unbroken mountain ranges, some of the mountains are inhabitat.

Fine panoramic shot, an interesting composition with low clouds. Excellent colours and details!
But this place looks not for tourists, I think.

Dear Ally,

Nabalu I have never seen, but I remember that many hamlets below the Mount Kinabalu have a similar topography. Living below the clouds is good to get fresh and not familiar vegies. I really liked the different vegetables available there. Your light and contrast management has produced vivid colors, fine sharpness and perfect DOF due to the clouds or fog at the top of the picture. Well done

Hello Ally,
Good to omit the sky and concentrate on the village and the forest to create an atmosphere of human life enclosed by nature. The clouds add a fine contrast and enhance the impression of a damp cloudy environment.

The low clouds have a special effect on the scenery. The point of view is allowing us to see the details and colors of the village. The trees are framing well the houses of the village. There is a good contrast betweens the colors. Have a nice day.

This is an interesting view of the village in the hills!
The atmosphere is well recorded and the rain forest is basically intact, that is good since the landscape shows some signs that landslides may happen...

I wonder how it is - to live under clouds in such a place like this... very GREEN place, but it looks rather separated from the world.. maybe I am wrong :)
I like the way you composed this very "green" view: with a bit of the clouds hovering above the scattered houses. A picturesque scene, even despite the absence of any bright - red or yellow or orange - colours!

The place in your shot is of the kind which I always look for in my travels. I like so wooded and green mountains. Towns and villages in such places look nicely, like this picturesque Malaysian town.
