This djelaba-clad man was immersed in the holy book, so I had an opportunity to sneak close and immortalize him. Not much light available, but enough for me.

I'm not sure that the cigarettes packs behind him are necessary or even disturbing maybe
I find that the color contrast between the blue djellaba and the reddish holy book in the twilight is by itself the main masterpiece of the shot

Christian,
Once agan a lovely use of the available light.To get 1/800th @ 2.8 you must have had a high ISO, so an even better result considering that.

Hi Cristian,
It could be version of the film 'coffee and cigarettes'. :)
The contrasts and contours are subtle, the colour is deep and intimate, the dark tones may not win many TE'ers over, but for me, they are rich. This is a little story, an intimate moment, yet with a little mystery too (we don't see his face etc).
This one is great.

Whatｴs nicer than available light photography? Another "Kind of Blue", Mr. Davis. Few colors make it and again the one light source coming from one side, Mr. Vermeer and the strong contrasts of light and shade, with the dark predominating, Mr. Rembrand. Good, pretty good. M

The written word catching the light, a packet of lights, great shot man, though too much empty space like the last one, i like this one alot..

iso200, 2.8 and you get 1/800..wonder if the tamron 17-55/2.8 will give the optics and the luxury like this one, cant afford the nikkor..
