Lake Plastiras ! a small paradise for vacation getaways or full time, in a landscape ,as Switzerland but you need not go away from this place to know the beauties. Beside you in a very short distance, the ｫlittle Switzerlandｻ, as the typical enthusiastic visitors waiting to meet. In Agrafa at an altitude above 1,000 meters, in the arms of a dense forest ｫnestsｻ Lake Plastiras. The fjord make the game with trees reflected in water of the lake and the villages around, each different and unique complement the alpine landscape. And to think that Tavropos Lake or Lake Plastiras, as is now known to most, is artificial. A human intervention, ie, the natural ecosystem, with unexpectedly positive result. The project was inspired by General Nikolaos Plastiras, who in 1925 envisioned the construction of a dam to contain water from the river Tavropos, imprisoning the middle of the plateau Nevropolis. The project became reality in 1959, six years after his death, giving life to the region, but also a landscape of exceptional beauty that many would envy of the world.
To make the tour of Lake Plastiras need only one day. The total distance is necessary detours around 100 km. ... Of particular interest is the education of Belekomyti forest area covering 5,688 acres. Within the forest are shaped and marked many eco trails, walking paths with specific small degree of difficulty, but with particular interest....

Hello Georgios,
This landscape certainly does look different from the pictures of Greece we usually see.
Beautiful nature picture with the mountains, the pine forests and the lake with its very irregular shapes.
The red colour in the sky makes this picture even more impressive.

Beautiful shot, fantastic landscape, lovely and nice sunset light with dramatic sky. Good contrast between all element, the shimmering light on the lake looks almost like it 's snow or flozen in pale blue against the dark landscape.
