Photographer's Note

The house we stayed in near San Gimignano was about 4 km by road from the town. The patio in back of the house had this view of San Gimignano. Unfortunately, it was raining and cold much of the time, so we could not sit outside and enjoy this view.

San Gimignano in earlier times had about 60 towers; now only a few, about 15, are left. See this shot for a little more detail on this very interesting town.

Hi Roger,
A brilliant idea for this shot, a great skyline to capture, and great composition throughout. The planter in the bottom of the shot is a really good touch of colour and a great anchor for the scene, while the skyline being visible in that gap in the trees is really cool. This would be one amazing place to live.
