Photographer's Note
The weathered and knotted wood of a blue and yellow beach hut languishing in winter sunshine on West Wittering Beach in West Sussex, England.

Hello Brian,
A cleverly composed image combined with a beautiful study in tones and textures. Superb warm and cool tonal contrasts and excellent rendering of the detail in the woodwork.

Brian,
Simple but magnificent work, trademark of the house. Thanks again to bring us color in these gray and cold spring days.
Cheers,

Hi Brian,
Who would not note and admire this wood knot? Would not you had had a keen eye and spotted this wood knot, you would not have taken a shot of this wonderful wood knot - would you not? :)
Again, your "favourite" 20mm lens has provided you with wonderfully strong perspective as well as immense depth of field and superlative sharpness. And again the juxtaposition of two complementary colours - yellow and blue - has added great impact. Lovely strong lines of composition too.
Very well seen and very expertly taken too!
Fabulous!
Kind Regards,
John.

Dear Brian..
I love so much about this brilliant composed photo. Original, simple and artistic. I love the texture on the wood..
The color is intense, the space to capture the soft cloud, it shows it's framed really well.

Hello Brian,
I have to admire a photographer who can turn a knot, especially one in wood, into such an attractive piece of art!
The colours and the textures are sublime!
Your expertise with composition has really come into its own, providing lead lines and following the celebrated rules!
Have a great w/e,

Hello Brian
Good use of shape and colour to create a great graphical composition. I like the way you have the shadow area at the bottom well exposed too. Nicely done.

Hello Brian,
The colors are, as usual, very nice, but the most beautiful stuff in this picture is the perfect composition. Congratulations, it is very well done.

Ciao Brian
Bravo.
Ciao e buona serata
Romano

Hello Brian,
I have just critiqued an image of yours where the paint was new and shiny. This beach hut contrasts very well. You have selected a part that shows the weathered paint and bare woodgrain to great effect. Interesting to have half of the picture as sky but it works well, particularly with the delicate diagonal line of thin cloud.
Kind Regards, Ann

Nice colours too. :)

Hi Brian,
With so many incredible photos to choose from, sometimes I can't figure out where to begin. :) I really like the minimal nature of this shot, but what impresses me the most is how you've made for a clear and distinct separation of blues between the sky and painted wood. The exposure to make this work so effectively is simply spot on. The bookmark composition suits this extremely well and allows for so much sky to be included without being negative space. Strong textures as well, outstanding result! Have a great day.
All the best,
Jason

Hi Brian!
A very good detail and a really eye catching photo. The composition, the colours and textures are excellent! You got a really good shot with a very simple detail. I like the way the colour of the wood almost gets mixed with the colour of the sky.
