Photographer's Note

The wildflower were blooming in perfusion in the Superstition Mountains last weekend. Their beauty comes from the unusual amount of precipitation we had this winter and belies the danger they represent. It's not the danger of "too pretty" or too much pollen for allergy sufferers. It's the fuel they become for any errant spark or lightening strike once the dry heat of our 6-8 months of summer sucks all moisture from the plants.

This photo was taken along the Reavis Ranch Trail in the Superstition Wilderness.
