Photographer's Note
As a lover of Neon lights and blue hour photography, this is one I personally really like.
There is so much fun to be had photographing neon signs in Las Vegas. Its pretty simple, if you don't like Neon signs and glitzy buildings, you won't enjoy Las Vegas. On the other hand, its paradise for others.
This is a view of a cowboy and a large glass of beer. Its in Freemont Street, away from the more modern Vegas Strip. The glass of beer is probably 4 or 5 stories tall.
Some may think this is a boring scene, but not me, and I hope you share that or at least appreciate it.

Hello Craig,
It's a bright and eye-catching picture, definitely one for lovers of neon signs and blue hour, which would fit the description of a lot of TE members. I like it too, but maybe not surprisingly I prefer the WS. It is also bright and features a large neon sign, but there is also the human element, and I love the connection between "Commonwealth" and the common wealth of two persons enjoying their intimate relations with their mobile phones. Plus there are lots of fine reflections and I guess light shining from inside. Please allow me to claim that is a more interesting "nothing special" composition (almost very special)
Best wishes,
Gert

Hello Craig,
I am pretty sure my dad and I had dinner in the Irish pub there on our first night in Vegas. A great photo of the neon lit cowboy and the large glass of beer. I love the blue of the sky as well. To answer you question regarding the Painted Hills, it is not a big area, there is one general overlook and two or three other places of interest where you can drive up to, park your car and then there's a short trail around the highlights.

Hello Craig, a true eye catcher, the very bright neon against a lovely blue hour sky. I like the angle that allows us to see a kind of silhouette of the cowboy on his horse , it makes it stand out more.
The two extra shots are a god complement to the main post.
Never a boring scene; you are sharing a part of the world/ features that some of us may never see for real, so thanks for that.
Kind regards, Jean.

BOnjour Craig,
Cela vaut la peine de visiter Las V馮as un jour, si ce n'est juste pour photographier les n駮ns qui 馗lairent la ville de nuit. Tr鑚 beau cadrage serr et superbe gestion de la lumi鑽e et des couleurs.

Hi Craig,
The subject is well framed. The point of view is showing the details of the neon signs. The blue hour light is bringing out the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Craig,
Just like Gert, I prefer the ws for the same reasons as he. Its a really typical everyday scene, all the two persons are engaged into their phones instead of each other. - By that I mean talking to each other. ;-)
The main upload is a decent postcard from Vegas and have no problem with it.
Best Wishes,
Gy.

Hello Craig,
Neon definitely looks great in the blue hour. I like the horse and cowboy; he's waving at the camera even though his arm isn't lit up. Ha ha! :-) That's a giant root beer, too. Nice shot.

Hi Craig,
Very well designed beer ad. And of course it is big, this is Las Vegas after all. Quite sparkling cowboy too. Blue hour sky goes well with this scene.

Hello Craig,
The question of a million is how many people are needed to drink this glass completely empty ...
I've no idea if I would really enjoy Las Vegas but I do like to see pictures of it. I'm quite sure I'd love its climate :) but that's something else.
Your second picture in the WS is completely different.
I like your compositions and the quality of your shots.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Craig,
It seems to be one of those days when w/s appeal to me more than the main post.
Though this is an okay photograph, in that it is sharp and colourful, the workshop of the couple, standing in front of a bar, is full of warmth and glamour and seems to tell a story.
Are they looking for ratings for the 'Commonwealth', are they texting friends to meet them, have they had a tiff and are only communicating via phone, the scenarios are endless.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Craig
Not boring at all! I mean, I'm not sure I would like Vegas by day, but it seems like a photographer's paradise by night with all the neon lights and crazy vibrant colours. I also like your composition with tight crop that makes for a very graphic and eye-catching image. Even in thumbnail format it screams "open me, click on me". :-)
The "Commonwealth" WS could easily be another main upload.
Best wishes

Hello Craig
I remember this luminous cowboy on horseback very well when we walked to Fremont Street the first night in Las Vegas to eat something.
Before we knew it, we walked into this unknown world.
Good to see that the cowboy has managed to stay on the horse.
Have a good weekend, groet Rob

Hello Craig
Missed this one. The yellow neon horse provides a tremendous warm cold colour contrast with the blue hour sky. Good sharpness and upward pov. Tfs!

Hi Craig,
I like Las Vegas.
I think everybody can find there something interesting to see and do.
It is not only the neons and kitschy buildings, there is amazing food, there are great shows, lot of entertainments. It is a fun way to visit few places around the world along one street.
I love it. Having said that I were only once there on purpose and my other visits were while passing by on trip to National Parks... but then as well it made a great stop, a nice change in the scenery.
Lovely series of photos. The main one certainly refers to Irish Guiness and even the white foam part on top of the dark beer is made of neon lights.
Funny!
Very well captured!!

PS. Now, don't you get any ideas and spike that cute little guy's milk with this root beer!
