Photographer's Note
When all you have is a hoof, it's hard to pick your nose.
We all need a bit of humor sometimes.
This calf was in the distance as I hiked into Lake Pleasant Regional Park from the northeast boat launching area. While it is a park, it's also grazing land for the nearby ranch and a herd of cattle was foraging for food. There is also a herd of wild burros that made its presence known with their braying.
I was on my way to Indian Mesa to visit the ruins of an ancient indian settlement atop the mesa. At the time, the boat ramp was closed and the posted sign said 5 miles to the water. The boat ramp is located where the Aqua Fria River flows into the lake (when the lake is full and the river is running - a rare confluence of conditions).
