Photographer's Note

This is near the end of the sightseeing airship trip above Bodensee. Nowadays it is impossible for an ordinary passenger to get a cockpit view during a flight of a bigger aircraft. So this was a special occasion too.

For those who might like to get a better view of flight controls I added a workshop.

Hello Kari,
A great photo of the cockpit of the zeppelin with a clear view of the many screens and gauges. The blurry landscape behind the small drops on the windscreen is a great background.

Hello Kari,
My first thought was that this is a rare sight today for most air passengers. And I don't think I ever saw the cockpit of this kind of aircraft. Maybe it's the first ever on TE. We get a reasonable view of the approaching land, but above all it's an interesting look at the pilots and their instruments.

Hi Kari,I looked at the date and was amazed, then I realized that it was the airship and not a normal plane on which it would be impossible to take 2 photos like this. Great shot without a doubt despite the real wet, WS useful with the tools on board, it must have been a really exciting experience! Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Almost an unique image.

Were you able to check that everything went normally on the many screens? :)
You were welcomed with rain at your destination. Yet we can see the different colours of the landscape and the roofs.
A cool experience, the flight with the airship and the visit to the cockpit.

Hello Kari,

This is a very unusual scene because we hardly ever get to see the pilot and co-pilot, and their instrument deck, except on movies! Were you just able to see this from your seat or were you invited to take a photograph?
You have really been able to reveal how shallow dof works.
I can't help thinking that the rain, or condensation, on the windscreen makes us feel to be experiencing the flight, too.
