Photographer's Note
Wind and weather etched sandstone in the Coyote Buttes (South) area of the Vermilion Cliffs National Monument.
This area is NOT The Wave! However, it does require a permit to enter and even fewer permits are available for it than for Coyote Buttes (North) which has The Wave. 10 permits are available online and a further 10 are available the day before entry on a first come basis from the Bureau of Land Management's Kanab, Utah, ranger station. Access to the area requires a high clearance vehicle with 4 wheel drive due to the deep sand and unmaintained roads or a 2.5 mile hike (uphill) through that same soft sand.

Hi Mark,
Excellent photo, great effect with these striations, good result with this light and these shadows to accentuate these impressive lines on the rocks, tfs.
