Photographer's Note
This sculptures are just some of the many details of the West Front of a Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim.
Cathedral was finished in all its splendour some time around 1300.
Church was catholic, so the architectonic details represents catholic Saints and the alegorys important to the Christians.
From the right you see:
-allegory of Faith,
-allegory of Hope,
-allegory of Love,
-St. Olaf (King and patron of Norway),
-St. Sunniva (Irish Princess who became Norwegian Saint).
Nidaros Cathedral is the bigest church in Norway, and as I remember, the bigest in the whole Scandinavia.
This is also one of the most beautiful churches in Europe, built in the same style as the Notre Dame Catedral in Paris, just not so famous.
