Glendalough, a photo from Wicklow, South

Photographer's Note

Wicklow is widely known as the 敵arden of Ireland� with hidden lakes and luscious waterfalls. One of the most beautiful locations and one of my personal favorites is Glendalough. Glendalough is a glacially sculpted green valley of great beauty and near this location sections of the film Braveheart were filmed.

The most famous of all the landmarks in the area, however, is the "Round Tower" which stands 110 feet above the ground. Here I included it in my compostion from the nearby stream rather than the graveyard or early Christian settlement area.

I love this, but I am a bit unsure abt the white house in the green forest. A bit disturbing.

What a striking view! Too good to be true! Wow!

You致e choose an awesome point of view, where the rivers meet, beneath the tower. The composition is flawless and I really like the position of the important visual elements in the scene. The light is delightful and allows the different shades of green to vibrate. You致e done a good job in choice of framing, with the largest proportion to the landscape and a calibrated sky portion.

This is one of the great pictures on TE today. A perfectly well balanced composition. The foreground is particularly attractive as are the deep green colours.
The place of the round tower is also ideal.

Nice shot. The composition is very great because I think the different parts in that picture are very well organised: stones in the right foreground, ruins in the left background, and the river following a diagonal way.
The light is also very nice because of this warm low sun, and the cokin filter useful.

This is a nice shot. Your composition is great with nice sharpness and detail. The lighting and colors are great with good contrast. The addition of the tower in the background adds a nice touch to the shot.

Great pastoral scene, with wonderful colours and a nice balance between foreground and background. One part stands out though, the tower, which adds that essential element to focus our attention and tie the whole scene together. Beautiful!

Great composition, the picture is full of details and is a good tribute to this amazing landscape. I like a lot the colours, the contrast between the light conditions and the green mood...it creates a pretty interesting atmosphere. Very interesting too, the silhouette of the tower in the far background...
