Belfast on Thames, a photo from London, England

Photographer's Note

Dear friends,
presented here is a view of The Thames, looking upstream from Tower bridge - from where I shot the picture.
In this view can be seen "HMS Belfast" a decommisioned Royal Navy vessel which is now used as a floating museum.

The red strip of light in the immediate background is London bridge.
Buildings in the far distance include the BT Post Office Tower and others.

Excellent night shot...i like that kind,the exposure is perfect,i like the contrast of colors green buildings against the red bridge,the frozen Thames by the 8 sec of exposure is also a good point,

Very beautiful night shot, I can help myself infront of a successful night shot, everything looks so pretty, the colors, the sharpness, the objects, everything. I especially like the green building contrasting the red lights from the bridge. Very very nice indeed.

This is a nice early evening shot. You have blended both natural and artificial light very well in this shot. The colors are great with nice sharpness and detail. The long exposure worked well for you here.

Daniel,
Once again you hit the nail on the head. I am sure I can see the desks in the offices and I think I can make out computer screens your shot is so sharp! The reflection of light off of the moving water is extremely well controlled - as is the exposure in general. The bridge lights are powerful yet their streaks are well controlled. The depth of field is sharp all the way bar the single barge in the foreground that moved during your long exposure shot.

This really is a great picture.

Hi Daniel,

Great night shot you got here! Love the composition! The 8 seconds works very well for the water and reflections. The foreground gives the eye a bit of a rest. The building to the left creates a diagonal that leads the eye to the boat. Yes, good build up. The f/8 gives a pleasant overall sharpness. Well done!

Excellent shot, Daniel. It's like a festival of colours and lights. The place, though a bit unpleasant and chaotic at daylight, looks gorgeous at blue hour. Congrats.

You really did a great job there. Im impressed by the light you caught along the river and on the sky. Its amazing and the sharpness is another quality of the picture. There are a lot of details.
By the way, I have visited the HMS Belfast on 2003, during the heat wave...I found it a good experience.
