Hello Mariusz,
I was surprised by the age of this building, which seems to have an older style.
I had to smile at the problem you found with research, as I have had similar problems, trying to research items shown in some of my recent photographs!
This is a neat little church and I like how it is made from a mixture of materials, to give it character and personality.
Your photograph is sharply exposed, with good light.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Lars,
Wow, this is a spectacular building!
Can you imagine how anyone went about designing and overseeing the construction of this cathedral!
You can compare its decorative exterior with that of the b/g building ...!
You did extremely well to capture the whole building in one frame and give it a good sense of composition, too.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Ciao Caro Luciano,
This is a chubby character!
Whereas we see it as a ravenous creature, fattening itself up, prior to pupating, I think it looks like a tasty, fat morsel for some hungry bird!
As always, your photograph is really well exposed, capturing sharp details, against a blurred b/g.
The w/s shows a curious close-up of the caterpillar, covered in bumps and lumps but ... no eyes.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Murat,
It is always interesting to visit a museum, especially a photographic museum, where you can observe development and creativity.
Your photographs record some of the features that you found interesting and made pleasing compositions. (I had to laugh at the hands of the model which seem out of proportion and one, maybe the wrong way round.)
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Ian,
Well, I was totally taken in by the picture when I first studied it; I thought you had captured an eagle flying by the silos!
Of course, I quickly realised my mistake but I think it's a great way to turn a quite ordinary building into an amazing piece of art.
You did well to capture it so completely and sharply.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Jean,
We all wish that clear accounts of interesting places could be obtained, so that we would know everything of interest about them. I just wonder if, for a short time, Drake became more important than a saint so the island was dedicated to him!
You had a lovely clear day for this trip and its good to be able to pick out important landmarks like Smeaton's Tower. (I remember when there was a huge wheel nearby. Whatever happened to it?)
I like how you have included the grass, in the f/g, to create a good sense of depth to the city.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Dear Costantino,
You have included the bridge very nicely in your photograph, so that it gives us a fine sense of depth and perspective, with details of the river and boat beneath.
The figures look busy as they cross but, I can see at least three people using their mobile phones! It is a sign of the times that, even when out shopping or sightseeing, many still have to be in phone contact.
My warm regards,

Hello Pavle,
It is sad to see lovely old properties demolished, for memories and a whole different way of life disappear at the same time.
Your photograph graphically reveals the debris left from the demolished, old house, with probably more old houses to follow.
The new builds behind are definitely lacking charm and character.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Gert,
I'm glad you pointed out the title, for it is an interesting concept and I have a feeling the ladies were talking in depth about it and comparing experiences. (It is only recently that it has been accepted that many women suffer, some quite debilitating conditions, during menopause.)
I like the trio arranged around the art; it encourages viewers to work in a circular motion around the scene.
I think you are too critical of these photos. For me, they are all very well composed, nicely exposed (maybe just a little oe on one w/s) and with interesting subjects.
My warm regards, Bev :-)

Witaj Krzysztof,
This does look like an English garden with the lawns interspersed with trees and flower beds.
It is a nice, welcoming composition, to include both garden and palace.

Hello Ike,
I often feel that important, public places should make a strong statement when you enter them; now this one does.
It is big and showy, with a bright expanse of glass roof, casting light onto the highly polished floor, to create reflections.
The palm trees in the f/g are nicely linked to those in the b/g, insinuating a diagonal composition.
It does look a pleasing place to visit, which you did, exampled by your w/s.

Bev :-)

Hello Ali,
I like the drama of this shot.
It is almost like a story unfolding, as the patterned hillsides of green and grey are suddenly overcome by the huge, rain cloud descending, like a giant foot!!

Hello Jorge,
You were unable to know that such a violent storm would overtake you on your sightseeing journey. Though you had difficult conditions to deal with, you still managed to take this excellent photograph showing the terrain, the approaching storm and a figure very strongly placed in the composition.

Hello Piotr,
Thank you for the historical links which adds much background to the significance of this site.
You have taken a good viewpoint which contrasts the shrubs and wild flower areas with the grey, barren slopes of the mountain.
A lovely, sharp exposure.

Hello Malgo,
You are a very independent soul but it must be nice to have family nearby.
Nature is a wonderful artist. This abstract art could have been done by a modern artist but would not have been any better! It was interesting to see the more of the tree but all photos could have been a main post.

Hello Paul,
The quality that can be achieved with a smartphone is remarkable! This is an excellent photograph where we can see the narrow streets, the different types of building and their relationships to one another.
The colours are natural on this lovely day.
What a fine panorama!
Your w/s are useful additions, focussing on different aspects.

Ciao Caro Silvio,
This would have been a very fine building before seismic troubles and abandonment! Your photograph shows strong walls and well constructed archways or doors, with a staircase which is still operational.
Your composition is well judged, using the rule of thirds.

Hello Paul,
For all of us, who have experienced scorching hot weather just recently, this looks like the perfect hobby.
You have included some f/g grasses to anchor the f/g and give a good link to the b/g greenery, whilst the paddle-boarders make a fine, focal point in the central area.
The setting looks most inteesting.
Your w/s are good, interesting photos, too.
The rowers are very interesting since they appear to be wearing vests from different countries. I wonder if different nationalities train together.

Bev :-)

Hello Elaine,
Your notes explain why you chose b&w rather than colour.
It is a very good, sharp photograph, showing the hundreds of sequins, beads and feathers, that are combined to create this costume. Beneath it all, we have equally sharp details of the man's face, decorated with glitter and showing a happy expression.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Bev,
This is a very attractive building and it seems to be in good condition. The sky looks a bit cloudy but there was a pleasantly soft light and the colours turned out well. Thank you for answering my question, so here's another one: What about the ground floor windows? Anyone could smash the glass and just step inside. Would the Barton police be there in just a few minutes? ;-)
Both WS are useful for describing that this seems much larger than it appears at first sight.
Kind regards,
Gert
