- Hello,
Iｴm Jonas Schmitt (born the 03.01.1994) and I live in Kempten, a city with about 60000 inhabitants in the southern part of Germany.
When I was a kid , about eight or nine years old, I already took some pictures in my vacation with my first analog camera, just in order to keep some nice memories of the places Iｴve visited. But serious photography, still as a hobby, Iｴve started in May 2007 with my sisterｴs Canon Powershot A60. From October 2007 until June 2008 I used my fatherｴs Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50 until I finally bought a Nikon D300 DSLR, which I am really happy with.
Trying to improve my photography skills was one reason for me to join this site. But I also joined it because I want to learn more about the world. Iｴve liked travelling sice Iｴve done my first trip to a country beyond Europe (Indonesia, 2002) and I really like to see different landscapes and cities, as well as foreign lifestyles. I hope I can share my pictures and experiences on this site very well, and of course, can have a lot fun here !

My elder brother (who gave me the first "lessons" with a digicam) told me about this site, heｴs called cepekdong.
I also told some of my friends, who are interested in photography, about this site and so they decided to join TrekEarth, too.
