- Who is Suppiluliuma, anyway?
Suppiluliuma was the king of the Hittites between 1344 � 1322 BC.
Hittites established an empire in the 18th century before Christ in the Near East, covering contemporary Turkey and extending to Syria, with its capital in Hattusa, near Ankara.
Suppiluliuma achieved fame as a great warrior and statesman, successfully challenging the then-dominant Egyptian empire for control of the lands between the Mediterranean and the Euphrates. - Member Since
