Intro: I have always been interested in camera, both still and movie cameras. My first photographs were mainly of my family as they grew up and holidays and events, all taken with very basic cameras. Later I bought a Nikon EM SLR and zoom lenses, filters, etc. This was a learning experience which I enjoyed and used it for many years. However, I got tired of lugging around all the lenses and filters, and finally after I retired I bought my first digital camera the Kodak DC280. Early in 2003 I bought my Canon Sureshot S30 with which I am very happy.
Since joining TrekEarth and TrekLens I have learned a lot about composition, and something of post processing, at least the basic steps. The people here have been most helpful in their critiques and workshops and I thank you all.

02/09/04 I had a wonderful surprise for my 71st birthday - a new Canon S1 IS 10x zoom camera. Just beginning to take a few shots with it.

07/04/06 - A few weeks ago I got my first digital SLR the Canon Digital Rebel XT 350D. I havaen't taken many shots yet, but hope to soon as we are doing a European trip in May.
